         My Background

Hi! I’m Sarah and my interest in Holistic Therapies began whilst doing work experience as a teenager. I knew I wanted to work in this field . In 1999 , I qualified at the Royal Forest of Dean College with a VTCT diploma in Holistic Therapies. This was my starting point in Swedish massage , Reflexology and Aromatherapy.

In order  to develop further insight into body mechanics, treating injuries , and advanced massage techniques, I qualified in Sports Massage and Therapy. I completed a 2 year VTCT diploma at Hereford College of Technology (as it was known then) in 2009. As well as working with clients, I was Sports Physio for Hereford 1st XV Rugby Club.

In 2012  I moved to London and honed my skills working in 5* establishments including The Bvlgari Residence, The Dorchester Spa, Intercontinental Four Seasons  and Relax Covent Garden. This  gave  me the opportunity to work alongside both international therapists and clients-and learn from them, as well as completing the  in-house training from iconic spas and hotels.

Professional development is extremely important to me and  over the years, I  have attended many  courses provided by recognized industry trainers. In 2022 I gained the MLD Practitioner Diploma and also trained in the Elemis product range. I have recently completed further training in treating lower back and neck pain, as well as Traditional Thai techniques.

I returned to my roots here in Ross-On-Wye and after a break for maternity leave, ( and the pandemic) , I established Wye Valley Massage Therapies in 2021.

Massage therapy is an art form. But it must also be carried out safely and with a thorough, evidenced under-pinning knowledge . Wye Valley Massage succeeds in combining these elements to create a balanced client experience- a pleasant and comfortable environment coupled with expert knowledge and an incisive approach to treatment.

Your appointment begins with a thorough consultation, an honest appraisal, and recommendations for treatment/ advice going forward. Subsequent treatments  always start with feedback from you , to ensure that we are progressing, meeting your goals and working on the issues most appropriate to you at that time.

Please take a look at the treatments on offer or get in touch to see how massage could help you.
